Nine children comprised his family; Leander F., now in California, born February 14, 1850; Barbara, born July 3, 1853; John Calvin, March 2, 1856; William h., November 8, 1858, died June 27, 1870; Peter A., born April 20, 1861; Lyman, March 6, 1862, died September 1863; Isaac P., born October 7, 1866; Mary E., March 7, 1871; Joseph W., February 18, 1874. Post-office address Leipsic.

A second article in the same book refers to a brother to Calvin. I will add it here in case it is helpful to other Sherrard and related families researchers:

William R. Sherrard --- is the present superintendant of the Putnam County infirmary, with his post-office address at Gilboa. He was born February 2, 1824, in Muskingum County, Ohio, and is the son of Henry and Barbara (Radabaugh) Sherrard, who settled in Putnam COunty in 1838. He married Mary Jane, daughter of Charles and Mary Ann (Dyer) Caddy, in Gilboa, Ohio, August 19, 1850, his wife's parents having moved to the county two years before. Their family consists of eight children; Almeda, born March 16, 1852; Eva, June 10, 1854; Annie C. and Charles C. (twins), November 23, 1856; William Chester and Mary Hester (twins), September 9, 1858 --- the latter died January 5, 1870; Harry Bassett, born May 18, 1862; Everett, May 11, 1973.
