Personal Information Page For
James Albert Sigsworth
(c/o William Henry Sigsworth and Mary Scott)

James Albert Sigsworth, our direct line ancestor, child of William Henry Sigsworth and Mary Scott, was born Nov.10, 1843 in Storrington, Frontenac Co., Ontario CAN. He died Nov.28, 1918, at the home of his daughter Mrs. Ole Lewis (Mary Ann Sigsworth) in Richardson, Polk Co., Wisconsin. He was buried at Clear Lake, Polk Co., Wisconsin. According to Sigsworth Family Bible records he married first Jenette Whaley on Sept.08, 1856, in Sydenham, Frontenac Co., Ontario CAN (this marriage is very unlikely given that James was only 13 years of age at the time). He married second at the Primitive Methodist Church of Sydenham to Eliza Ann Whaley on Mar.28, 1864, d/o Nathan Whaley and Ann Jackson.

Information provided by Terry Spear on the Ancestry.com Message Board on 22 Nov 2001:

James Gordon and Jane Sigsworth of Kingston, Ontario. Of  theSigsworth family he says - "Mine started out in Yorkshire, then ended up in Kingston. Jane <Sigsworth> had siblings: Frances, William Henry, Christopher, Sarah, James and Miriam. Francis died in 1874 in Loughborough and was buried in Storrington, Frontenac Co., Ontario. William married Mary Scott and had Christopher, Jane, Elizabeth, William Henry, James Albert, Catherine, Ann, Fanny and George Lumson. I have nothing on their spouses or children. Most were born in the Storrington area. I don't know about Jane's other siblings except that they were all born in England"

Family Bible records of Helen Sigsworth

James G. born 10 Nov 1843 Storrington, Ont.
James Sigsworth was married to Jenette Walley Sept. 8 1856 at Sydenham ... this marriage is suspect given the age of James at the time, which 13 years.

I will eventually get complete records online, including these Bible Records. Please bear with me.
