Peter Jacob Killian and Barbara Mary Lisowski


Peter Jacob Killian, son of Mathias Killian and Rosalie Gandyra, was born 19 May 1866, at  Schalkowitz, Schlesien, Opole, Poland. He died in Weyburn, Saskatchewan on 30 May 1928.  On 5 Aug 1890, in Arcadia, Trempealeau Co., Wisconsin, Peter Jacob married Barbara Mary Lisowski, daughter of Jacob Lisowski and Mary Pipa. Barbara was born in Czarnowanz, Opole, Poland, on 4 Dec 1869, and she died on 24 Apr 1924, at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Olmsted Co., Minnesota. Barbara was previously married in Arcadia on 12 Jan 1885 to Andreas (Andrew) Krett (born 11 Nov 1853, in Poland, and died 1890 in Wisconsin). Barbara and Andrew had one child together, Andrew Krett who reportedly died as an infant. Peter Jacob and Barbara are buried in Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn, Saskatchewan. 1-Florentina Killian, born 19 Jun 1891, in North Creek. It has been reported that Florentina died young.

2-Peter Henry Killian, born 17 Oct 1894, in North Creek, died 6 Feb 1928, in Weyburn, just two months after his father died. Peter Henry married on 2 Feb 1916, at Weyburn to Pearl Ethel Gwin, daughter of Frank Stoel Gwin and Margaret Jane Sigsworth. Pearl was born on 18 Jul 18, 1899, at Milaca, Mille Lacs Co., Minnesota, and she died on 3 Jun 1974, Regina, Saskatchewan. More to see on the family page for Peter and Pearl Killian.

3-Kataryzyina (Catherine) Ruth Killian, born 12 Feb 1896, at North Creek, died  5 Aug 1956, in Rockglen, Saskatchewan. Catherine married Albert Louie Tindall on 24 Nov 1915, at Weyburn, he being the son of Henry Granville Tindall and Caroline Twist who was born 6 Sep 1894, at Willow Bunch, Saskatchewan, and died 11 Aug 1978, at Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Both Albert and Catherine are buried at Hillcrest Cemetery.

4-Pelagia Elizabeth Killian, born 17 Dec 1897, in North Creek, died 28 Jan 1984, in Weyburn. Pelagia married on 16 Jan 1916, at Weyburn to Alvin George McGugan (he born 7 Aug 1896, in Ontario, and died 21 Jul 1968, in Weyburn. 5-Maria Barbara (Mary) Killian, was born 1 Jul 1899, in North Creek, and she died on 7 Jun 2005, in Weyburn. She married on 8, Jun 1919, in Moose Jaw to Carmen B. Metheral, son of William Samuel Metheral and Isabella Stewart, who was born 23 Nov 1891, in Creemore, Simcoe Co., Ontario, and who died 7 Jul 1977, at Weyburn. Mary and Carman are buried in Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn. Some personal information about Carmen - he moved with his family in 1904 to the Weyburn district; he played hockey with the Soo Line League; he farmed until 1927, when sold the farm to Oscar Killian; and he was a major shareholder and linesman for the Weyburn Plains Telephone Co. According to Mary's biographical sketch in As Far As The Eye Can See she was well known for her needle crafts and handiwork; she was a leader of the Grand Bend Homecraft Club; she was a member of the Saskatchewan Farmers' Union National Registration Regulations 1940, electoral dist. 207, polling division 63, Weyburn, Saskatchewan. 6-Matilvan Dorothy (Tilly or Mathilda) Killian, was born 13 Mar 1901, in Arcadia, and she died 6 Mar 1983, in Calgary, Alberta. She is buried in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Calgary. Tilly married on 12 Jul 1922, in Weyburn, to Joseph John Thomas, who was born 3 Oct 1896, in Kronau, Saskatchewan, and who died 3 Mar 1985, in Regina. He is buried in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, Regina.
