William Snodgrass, child of William Snodgrass and Margaret of Canton Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, was b.Dec.19, 1807. About 1830 he married first in Pennsylvania to Margaret Chambers, d/o Thomas Chambers and Elizabeth McCullough and had the following children:

1-Thomas Snodgrass, b.Apr.29, 1832, in Wash. Co., Pa. He m.about 1852, to Eleanor Walker, who was b.Sept.8, 1830, in Craw. Co., Ohio, d/o Joseph Walker and Esther Garven of Ohio. Eleanor passed away on Jan.22, 1887, her husband of more than forty years d.Feb.10, 1901. Both are buried in Crestline's Greenlawn Cem. Their children were: 

1-Margaret Lee Anne (Anna) Snodgrass, b.Jan.1849, in Crestline, Ohio. She d.unmarried Dec.14, 1927: 
2-Hester Josephine Snodgrass, b.Crestline in 1855. She m.Oct.12, 1876, to Frank P. Drake: 
3-Mary Fransonia (Sona) Snodgrass, b.Crestline in May 1859, a twin to William Francis Snodgrass. She m.Samuel Douglas Steffey, or Stiffey, who may have been related to Mary Stiffey, wife of Sona's uncle, David Snodgrass: 
4-William Francis Snodgrass, twin to Mary Fransonia, d.unmarried in Madison, Ohio, and is buried in Greenlawn Cem: 
5-Infant Snodgrass, lived one day and d.without being named:

2-Sarah Jane Snodgrass, b.Apr.19, 1834, in Canton Twp., Wash. Co., Pa., m.Oct.28, 1850, to George A. McEwen:

3-William Campbell Snodgrass, b.Oct.25, 1835, in Canton Twp., Wash. Co., Pa. He d.May 2, 1852, in Craw. Co., Ohio, and is buried in Crestline's Greenlawn Cemetery across from his sister Mary Henderson (Snodgrass) Gates:

4-Mary Henderson Snodgrass, b.Dec.3, 1837, in Canton Twp., Wash. Co., Pa., m.Mar.10, 1854, in Craw. Co., Ohio, to John Gates. She d.June 16, 1854, and is buried in Greenlawn Cemetery:

5-Samuel McCullough Snodgrass, the first of the Snodgrass children to be b.Ohio, came into this world Jul.9, 1839. On May 10, 1865, while in Taylorstown, Pa., he m.Esther Hannah Graham, d/o Samuel Graham and Hannah Way. Their children were: 

1-Margaret Elizabeth Snodgrass, b.Mar.25, 1866, m.Mar.10, 1894, to Andrew Kerr. Margaret d.Oct.30, 1929, at Bremen, Ohio, where the couple had settled: 
2-William Albert Snodgrass, b. on Mar.25, 1866, a twin to Margaret. He died unmarried on Mar.12, 1900, and was buried in the Claysville Cem:

Mary Hannah Snodgrass, b.Oct.15, 1869, m. Nov.20, 1902, to John C. H. Maxwell. Mary d.Feb.2, 1944, and was laid to rest in North Buffalo:

Ellen Nora Snodgrass, b.Mar.22, 1873, in Taylorstown, Wash. Co., Pa. She never married, and was laid to rest in Claysville Cem:

John Graham Snodgrass, b.Jan.18, 1879, m.May 22, 1913, in Blaine Twp., to Elizabeth (Ina) Mabel Sawhill, d/o John Sawhill and Jane Ziegler. John d.May 31, 1963, and his wife followed him to the grave on May 2, 1965, both are buried in Claysville Cem. 6-John Chambers Snodgrass, b.Mar.6, 1840, in or near Crestline, Craw. Co., Ohio. He m.Jul.4, 1864, to Savilla Miller, d/o Adam Rudisill and Mary Ann Miller, who was b.Sept.1838, in Harrison Co., Ohio. John d.Mar.27, 1910, and was laid to rest in Inglewood Park Cem. in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, Cal. Savilla expired Sept.6, 1912. Their known or suspected children include: 

1-Frances S. Snodgrass, b.1866 in Ohio. She m.Jul.3, 1890, in Shawnee County, Kansas, to Benjamin F. Hard: 
2-Charles M. Snodgrass, b.Nov.18, 1867, in Crestline, Ohio. He m.in Shawnee County, Kansas, on Oct.14, 1890, to Alice C. Oswalt: 
3-Claudia B. Snodgrass, b.1874, in Missouri, m.Oct.4, 1892, in Shawnee County, Kansas, to John W. Garrett:

7-Elizabeth Snodgrass, b.Aug.2, 1843, in or near Crestline, m.Mar.3, 1861, to John walker, son of Joseph Walker and Esther Garven. Elizabeth d.1874, and is buried next to her brother Thomas Snodgrass, in Greenlawn Cem. Their known, or suspected children are:

8-David Snodgrass, b.Jan.26, 1846, in Canton, Craw. Co., Ohio. On Nov.15, 1866, m.Mary Stiffey (Steffey). Their known children were: 

1-Harry Lou Snodgrass, b.Apr.1867, at Crestline, Craw. Co., Ohio. On Apr.25, 1887, m.Ada L. Barker, d/o George W. Barker, who was b.Sept.1869, at Ganshour, Jeff. Twp., Ohio. Two known children were: 1-Fannie Snodgrass, b.Apr.1889: and 2-Unknown Snodgrass, b.Aug.15, 1898, and who d.the following day. Harry d.June 7, 1920, and Ada d.Nov.16, 1923. Both are buried beside their infant in Fairview Cem:

Maude Jenette Atkinson, d/o Richard Atkinson and Ellen Close. Maude was b.Sept.9, 1875, and d.Jul.1939. One known child, b.abt.1908, was Lois 1-Ellen Snodgrass:
5-Blanche Bertha Snodgrass, also called Berdella, was b.Oct.16, 1875, at Crestline, d.Dec.12, 1889, and is buried in Greenlawn Cem:

9-James Francis Snodgrass, youngest child of William Snodgrass and Margaret Chambers, was b.Nov.17, 1847, in or near Crestline. Not long after his birth his mother d.and James was raised by her aunt and uncle, John Chambers and Sarah McCullough, of Springfield Twp., Rich. Co., Ohio. Aunt Sarah (McCullough) Chambers d.Apr.16, 1866, at the age of 75, and was laid to rest in the Chambers family plot in Ontario Cem., Springfield Twp., Rich. Co., Ohio. James m.Louisa Mccoy, with whom he had at least five daughters, namely 

1-Ona Zoe Snodgrass (b.Oct.1874), 
2-Lucinda Snodgrass (b.Nov.1876), 
3-Alverda Snodgrass (b.Jan.1885):

6-Frank Snodgrass.

The daughters married men with the following names: G. W. Keller, Thomas Rhoades, Herman Marshall and Frank Finney. In 1900 James was not living with his wife and children, although all were in Springfield Twp., Rich. Co., Ohio. He was a boarder of Wm. L. Mitchell:

Our ancestor William Snodgrass, child of William Snodgrass and Margaret, married his second wife on Feb.14, 1849, in Richland County, Ohio. Rachel Warden was b.abt.1817 Pa., d.abt.1859, likely Ohio. Her parents were Sampson Warden and Elizabeth Allen, of Jefferson Township, Ohio. Known, or suspected children of William and Rachel were:

10-Margaret Elizabeth Snodgrass, b.May 14, 1850, d.Apr.12, 1881, at the home of her sister Isabel (Snodgrass) Schaffer near Ontario, Rich. Co., Ohio. Ironically her brother-in-law, Charles Jacob Schaffer, d.the following day, and the pair is buried in Ontario Cemetery, in the Schaffer family plot:

11-Isabel Snodgrass, b.Jul.12, 1851, m.Charles Jacob Schaffer on Feb.8, 1877:

12-Amanda Snodgrass, b.1853, was named in the obituary of her half-brother Samuel McCullough Snodgrass in 1926 as Amanda Roliston of San Diego, California:

13-William Campbell Snodgrass, our direct line ancestor, was b.June 19, 1855, in Craw. Co., Ohio. He m.May 10, 1882, in Rich. Co., Ohio, to Eunice (Emma) Marie Troll, who was b.May 17, 1857, at Wilmington, Greene County, Illinois. Emma was the d/o Martin Troll and Eva Mary Schaffer, both from Bavaria. She d.June 9, 1916, at Bright, Doug. Co., Wash., and was buried in Highland Cem. Their children were: 

1-Martin Snodgrass, b.Nov.1885, d.1918:

14-Robert S. Snodgrass, the youngest child of William Snodgrass and Rachel Warden, was b.May 10, 1857, Jack. Twp., Craw. Co., Ohio, m.Charlotte Donaldson (Lottie, she b.Nov.13, 1856, d/o William Donaldson). Robert d.Nov.17, 1919, and Lottie expired Jan.4, 1946. Their children were: 

1-Nelson N. Snodgrass
2-Carleton Homer Snodgrass, b.May 7, 1878, at Mt. Gilead, d.Jul.5, 1893, buried Fairview Cem: 
3-Charles Robert Snodgrass, b.Aug.1881, m.Clara Freitchen, and had one known child, Russell Snodgrass (he b.1904 in Ohio, d.Jul.4, 1966): 
4-Mary Imogene Snodgrass, b.Mar.10, 1885, Ohio. In 1904 she m.Glen Wood Ness, s/o John Calvin Ness and Malinda Mcclure, who was b.Dec.24, 1880, d.Dec.11, 1939. They had one son, Kenneth Robert Ness, b.Mar.18, 1905:

Our ancestor, William Snodgrass, child of William Snodgrass and Margaret, m.for a third time to Mrs. Christiana (Nee Eichelberger) Goodale, on Oct.26, 1859, widow of Alanson Goodale. There may have been another child b.to William, who was mentioned in the obituary of his son, Samuel McCullough Snodgrass, that being a daughter named Grace Snodgrass, who later m.a Guthrie. William and Christiana divorced after a brief year of marriage:
